External Marketing (Organic)
Last updated: January 30, 2025
Goal: Engage your external network (users, customers, alumni, followers, website visitors, investors) to help you find the right talent.
1. Engage Employees as Ambassadors
Use Vouch’s Sharing Materials:
Make it easy for employees to share job openings by using pre-generated images and copy from Vouch.
The recruiting team can pull sharing materials directly from the platform, including:
Job ads with ready-to-go CTAs.
Images or banners with custom formats and messaging.
Short, engaging text for sharing on LinkedIn or one-to-one.
Internal Activation:
Set up a simple process for employees to access sharing materials.
Update the team on where to find them via Slack or email.
Slack Integration:
Use Vouch’s Slack functionality to send automated reminders in relevant channels about referring or sharing materials.
2. Feature it Prominently on Your Website
Use Vouch as Your Main Careers Page:
If your company wants a more dynamic careers page, consider using Vouch as the primary destination for job listings.
Redirect your Careers page to your Vouch careers page if you allow for both referrals and applicants (e.g., careers.company.com).
Benefit: Vouch automatically updates job listings, provides easy referral options, and streamlines candidate tracking.
Create a Referral-Only Landing Page:
If you prefer to keep your standard careers page, set up a referral-only page instead.
Example URL: referrals.company.com.
Clearly explain how the referral program works, highlight the rewards, and provide a simple submission form.
Setting up your custom domain on Vouch is straight-forward in the portal.
Banners and Pop-Ups:
Add a permanent banner or pop-up promoting your external referral program on key pages of your site.
Example text: “Refer a friend, earn a reward! Click here to learn more.”
3. Engage your users or customers
Customers and users of a company's products or services are often passionate advocates who can be valuable sources for recruiting top talent.
By integrating referral recruitment into customer engagement channels such as in-app notifications, NPS surveys, and product newsletters, companies can leverage their existing user base to source high-quality candidates.
The same goes for alumni, investors or other forums you are in. Engage them 😃
You can track each such campaign in Vouch if you set up a custom channel.
4. Creative organic sharing campaigns with Vouch
Collaborating with your marketing department is optimal, but the platform itself covers a lot out-of-the-box.
Organic Reach Campaigns:
Launch campaigns that encourage referrals using engaging messaging, which Vouch can generate directly.
Use Vouch to create images and CTAs that resonate with each network.
Combine rewards:
If you have multiple jobs out promising rewards, consider combining them in a campaign. The rewards can combined amount to a significant number that raises attention.
"Earn $100,000!".
Video marketing:
Vouch customers have often succeeded in combining Vouch, the reward and showcasing their team by creating short video campaigns to promote their brand and that they are hiring.
Vouch have partners in many geographies that could help produce and promote such videos.
Videoes can be posted organically or sponsored on social media.
Referral Leaderboard:
Share Vouch data on how many referrals have come in and promote this on LinkedIn.
“This month we’ve received 25 referrals — who will be our next contributor? Refer here: [link].”
“Vouch It Forward” Recommendation Chain
Idea: Encourage referrers to get their networks involved by inviting them to refer as well.
Implementation:
The Vouch platform can generate sharing materials and text with CTAs for each position. Prompt the AI for suggestions.
The marketing department creates a viral-style campaign with humorous visuals and “chain letter” style messaging:
“We know you know someone. And we know they know someone! Refer them here and join the chain: [link].”
“Vouch Vision” Internal Campaigns
Idea: Use internal videos and images as a tool to showcase the work culture and hiring needs.
Execution:
Vouch provides visuals and job descriptions.
The marketing department produces short videos with employees:
“At [company], we’re looking for new colleagues. Here’s what it’s like to work with us! Know someone who’d fit?”
These can be shared across all channels.
5. QR Codes at Events and Physical Locations
Strategy:
Leverage events, office locations, and partner venues to promote the referral program via QR codes.
Execution:
At Events:
Set up posters with QR codes pointing directly to the Vouch platform.
Include QR codes on giveaways or materials, such as coffee cups or notebooks.
In Physical Spaces:
Place posters where your target audience frequents (cafés, co-working spaces, universities).
Messaging: “Know someone who’d be a great fit at [company]? Scan here to refer!”
Event Sponsorship:
Offer small prizes for referrals during events, like gift cards or goodie bags.
