Candidate profile and Vouch account

Last updated: June 19, 2026

The account is the durable layer under everything above: it's what lets a candidate carry their details across jobs, track multiple applications, and keep a referral chain growing over time. It also explains why the post-submit flow keeps offering to create one.

Candidates who create a Vouch account can:

  • Track all their applications and referrals.
  • See the status of each ("in process", "hired", etc.).
  • Update their resume, LinkedIn, and personal details — updates apply to future applications.
  • Request more recommendations for existing applications.

Candidates can apply without creating an account. They are prompted to create one after submitting, so they can check back later.

Why it's optional but encouraged. Forcing account creation before applying would cost you applicants, so Vouch never gates the form behind it. The ask comes after they've committed, framed as a benefit to them — "By creating a profile you can come back and enhance, request recommendation and have an easier time applying to more jobs in the future." — with a clear data reassurance: "We respect your data and will not share it with anyone you don't want to."

Good to know. Because profile edits "apply to future applications," a candidate who keeps their resume and LinkedIn current in Vouch arrives at their next application already filled in (see the pre-fill behaviour under Applying directly). The account is also where a candidate manages every job at once — the per-job portal above is one slice of it.

Troubleshooting — "A candidate didn't get their confirmation or status email." Candidate messaging is driven by the same notification system as the rest of Vouch. If expected emails aren't arriving, check that the relevant notifications are enabled and the address is right — see Notifications.
