Unpublish (deactivate) a job
Last updated: June 19, 2026
Unpublishing closes the job to new entries without throwing anything away — the role goes dark to the outside world, but your pipeline stays intact so you can keep working the candidates you already have.
When to use it. When you've got enough applicants and want to stop the inflow, when a role is paused, or when you're filled and wrapping up the remaining candidates.
Where: listing → Job post & sharing → Unpublish position.
Unpublishing stops the job: no one can apply or refer to it any more, and shared job channels (including paid channels) stop. Existing candidates and referrals stay active, so you can keep working with them.
To put the job live again, choose Publish position from the same tab.
Good to know. Unpublish is the reversible "off switch" — reach for it over deleting whenever you might revisit the role. Note it also stops paid channels, so a paused job isn't quietly spending. To delete a job outright, you have to unpublish it first (see Delete a job post).
