Notifications

Where: Settings → Notifications.

Page heading: "[Your name] — Notification settings for [company name]"

This is how Vouch keeps you in the loop without you living in the app. The goal is a feed that's loud enough to catch what matters — a new candidate to review, a comment you're tagged in — and quiet enough that you don't tune it out. Spend a minute here up front and you'll trust your notifications instead of muting them.

Notification preferences are personal — each team member configures their own. Changing yours doesn't affect anyone else's.

Notification channels

Each notification type can be toggled independently across three channels, so you can route the urgent stuff to Slack and let the rest sit quietly in-app:

ChannelNotes
In-appShown in the bell icon inside Vouch
EmailSent to your account email address
SlackRequires Slack to be connected (see Integrations)

Column headers have All on / All off bulk toggles — handy for setting a sensible baseline, then switching off the one or two types you don't care about.

Notification types

Daily digest
New candidates for review (choose relevant jobs below)
Candidate flow changed (choose relevant jobs below)

A blank cell means that channel isn't offered for that type — for example, New messages has no email option (it's meant to be timely), and the Daily digest is a summary that only makes sense as email or Slack, not as an in-app ping.

Good to know. Two of these — New candidates for review and Candidate flow changed — only fire for jobs you've explicitly subscribed to. Turning the toggle on is half the job; pick the jobs in the subscriptions section below so the notifications actually reach you.

Interview nudge timing

The Pre-interview nudge and Post-interview nudge have a configurable delay, so the reminder lands when it's actually useful — shortly before you meet, and again right after while it's fresh enough to log feedback.

  • Click the settings icon next to the nudge row.
  • Set the value and unit (minutes or hours).
  • Default: pre-interview = 1440 min (24 hours before); post-interview = 30 min (after the meeting ends).

The post-interview nudge is your prompt to capture an evaluation while it's fresh — Vouch reminds you to write it up; you do the assessing (Vouch never conducts or scores the interview itself).

Credits-related notifications (Owner and Admin only)

Credits power the Assistant's work — sourcing, drafting, evaluation help — so running dry mid-search is exactly the surprise you want to avoid. These alerts give you a heads-up before that happens. A separate "Credits related notifications" table is shown for Owners and Admins:

NotificationNotes
Token at thresholdFires when credit consumption crosses a percentage. Click Edit notification threshold to set the percentage(s). "When to alert about credit consumption. These thresholds are applied for all users in the company."
Tokens goneFires when the token balance reaches zero.

Good to know. These thresholds are company-wide — one Owner or Admin sets them and they apply to everyone. Set the first alert comfortably before zero (so there's time to top up) and keep Tokens gone on as a hard backstop. For what counts as consumption and how to top up, see Billing & subscription.

Job post subscriptions

Where: Notifications page → "Job posts you're subscribed to" section.

This is the list that decides which jobs trigger "New candidates for review" and "Candidate stage changes" notifications for you — so you hear about the searches you own, and stay quiet on the ones you don't.

  • Click Add job post → select a job from the dropdown.
  • Once added, the table shows: Job post / Summary (e.g. "New candidates: On, Stage changes: All stages") / Edit / Remove.
  • Click Edit to configure per-stage preferences — for instance, only ping me when a candidate reaches the interview stage, not on every move.

You can also configure per-job notifications from inside each job post's settings — whichever is closer to where you're working.

Notification hours

Click Edit notification hours to set quiet hours — notifications outside those hours are held back until your working window opens. Nothing is lost; it just waits, so an evening of new applications arrives as a tidy batch in the morning instead of buzzing your phone at midnight.

Troubleshooting

  • Not getting Slack notifications? The Slack column only works once Slack is connected for your company. If those toggles do nothing, set up the connection first — see Integrations.
  • Expected a ping that never came? Check three things in order: the type is toggled on for the channel, the job is in your subscriptions (for the per-job types), and it isn't being held by your notification hours.
