"Connect Vouch to the tools you already use to design a seamless recruitment experience for yourself and your employees."
Recruiting happens in conversations, and most of those already live in Slack. Connecting Slack pulls Vouch into that flow — so job-sharing asks, candidate nudges, and notifications land where your team is paying attention instead of in an inbox they check twice a day.
When to connect Slack
- Your team coordinates hiring in Slack and you want Vouch's alerts there, not (only) by email.
- You run employee referrals and want to post or schedule the "who do you know?" ask straight into a channel.
- You want a lightweight weekly pulse on each job without anyone opening the app.
When fully connected, Slack powers:
- Notification channels — all 16+ notification types can be routed to Slack. See Notifications.
- Employee channels — post and schedule job-sharing messages directly from a job's sharing channel to a Slack channel. See Channels & sourcing.
- Nudge bots and weekly reports — bot messages in Slack when candidates need attention, plus weekly performance summaries per job listing.
Connect Slack for your team
Two steps are required — both must be done before Slack is fully active. The first connects your company's workspace; the second links your own user so bots and notifications know who you are. Skipping the second step is the most common reason "I connected Slack but nothing happens."
Step 1 — Install Vouch for Slack in your workspace:
- Click Connect on the Slack card.
- You're taken through Slack's app installation flow.
- Authorise Vouch to access your Slack workspace.
Step 2 — Connect your personal Slack user:
If the workspace is already installed by someone else, the card shows:
"This Slack workspace is already connected to your company. Link your user account so you can receive notifications and use bots."
- Status: Workspace connected ✓ / Your Slack user is not connected yet ⚠
- "Open Slack, go to the Vouch app home, and click 'Sign in to Vouch' to finish connecting your account."
Connection states:
| State | What the card shows |
|---|---|
| No workspace connected | "Connect Slack for your team" + install steps |
| Workspace installed, user not linked | "Connect your Slack user" card with instructions |
| Fully connected | "Connected" ✓ — Slack card shows a green check |
Good to know. The workspace only needs to be installed once, by anyone on the team — usually whoever sets up the account. Everyone else just does Step 2 to link their own user. So if a teammate already connected the workspace, you won't see the install flow; you'll see the "Link your user account" card instead.
Good to know. Connecting Slack doesn't start a firehose. Notifications only go to Slack for the events you route there — you choose what shows up and where in Notifications. A connected workspace is the plumbing; your notification settings are the taps.
Troubleshooting
"I connected Slack but I'm not getting anything." Almost always Step 2. Check the Slack card — if it reads Your Slack user is not connected yet, open the Vouch app home in Slack and click Sign in to Vouch. Notifications and bots need your user linked, not just the workspace.
The employee-channel send to Slack isn't available. That feature rides on the same connection. If a job's employee channel can't post to Slack, confirm the workspace shows Workspace connected ✓ here first, then return to the channel. Setup for that flow lives in Channels & sourcing.
