Vouching for someone in your network

How to Vouch for a job listing
Vouch makes it easy to recommend your friends, colleagues and broader network to awesome job opportunities and get rewarded for it! Our goal is to make it simple for you to make a high quality candidate referral and, if they get hired, you get a payout.
Overview of the job listing details

For each listing you can see a description of who the company is looking for and a selection of highlighted skills required for the role. See if anyone in your network is relevant for the job and click the “Vouch for someone” you have a candidate in mind.
If you are interested in applying to the role yourself, you can also ask someone you know to Vouch for you. For more information on what happens next, check out our guide on 📄 Receiving a request to Vouch.
Sharing information about your Vouch

First, you will be prompted to provide the candidate's first and last names, as well as their most recent employer. Though optional, this information helps improve a Vouch.

Next, write a considerate (and honest) testimonial to why you believe this individual is well suited for the specific role. This can be about your personal or professional relationship together, just make sure that it's specific to them and meaningful to you!
If you find it difficult to know what to come up with something, you can choose to "Rephrase question" to receive an alternate question. You can also come back to edit this later. Try to keep the testimonial short, concise and relevant to the opportunity.
You can write as much as you like in your testimonial, but remember that a recruiter may have to read a lot of these! We recommend using short sentences, bullet points, or other text formatting to make your testimonial stand out to the hiring manager.
Referral reward and split pledges

A Vouch (almost always!) comes with a referral reward paid out to the originator of the final candidate hired through Vouch. You can then choose how the reward can be split. You can choose to donate a portion to charity, split some with the candidate or both. On hire, we will contact you to determine how the split should be.
This will be visible for the candidate, but not the company. This is also not editable after you created the vouch
Sharing your Vouch

When vouching, you can either share the opportunity directly with candidates or let Vouch contact them on your behalf, you have 2 options:
Option 1: Share the referral through Vouch (recommended)
Let Vouch send an email and/or sms to the candidate with your personal recommendation and job details. We will send a followup nudge about your Vouch if its not responded to within a week, either until the Vouch expires or after 30 days to comply with GDPR.
Option 2: Share the referral manually
Alternatively, you can share the job opportunity directly with the individual you Vouch for using your preferred channel of communication. You will be provided with a unique share link that attributes the referral to your Vouch account. You will be prompted to confirm that you have shared the link with the candidate.
Always add a personal message about why you thought this job listing was a good fit for them, it helps provide context and improves outcomes.
Making a Vouch anonymously

If you would like your Vouch to remain private to both the candidate and the company, you can select the option to Vouch anonymously. Please note, however, that this type of vouches usually has much lower accept rate, around 60%! Choosing this option will prompt you to select an alias so that the candidate doesn’t feel like a stranger has vouched for them.
Regardless of your method of Vouch, all referrals are tracked in the same way to ensure that your referral rewards are payed upon a successful hire.
After your Vouch has been sent

Congrats, your Vouch has been shared! Do a little dance 💃🕺 There are still a few things we recommend to improve the chances that your referral is accepted.
Don’t be anonymous, unless you feel you must: an anonymous Vouch has a 60% higher rejection rate than Vouches with attribution. If you still want to be anonymous but don’t mind if the candidate knows you have sent them the Vouch, you can still let them know by contacting them on another channel.
The more detailed the referral the better: your detailed recommendations help companies make better hiring decisions, so the better you understand the job listing requirements and the more you write about the candidate's relevance, the higher the likelihood they will get hired and you will get payed!
