Turn on candidate assistance for one candidate

Last updated: June 19, 2026

Reach for this when you want to deep-screen a specific person — a referral worth a closer look, or one promising applicant — without spending tokens on the whole pipeline.

To start AI screening for a single candidate in a job:

  1. Open the candidate from the job's Candidates board or table.
  2. Open the Evaluation section.
  3. Use the AI assistance toggle (the indicator shown in the evaluation header) to enable it.

You'll be prompted to confirm the token use ("By enabling candidate assistance, you will get AI assistance for reviewing, analyzing and summarizing the candidate's process and profile. This will consume 1 token."). Once enabled, the Assistant begins evaluating immediately — a "Candidate assistance enabled" confirmation appears, and you can refresh the evaluation section in a few minutes.

To turn it off: use the same toggle. AI assistance can also be disabled globally per job in Job → Settings → Advanced settings → AI Candidate intelligence.

Good to know. Turning assistance off doesn't delete the evaluation that already ran — it stops new ones. Flip it back on and the existing results are still there. The per-job setting is the switch to reach for when an entire role shouldn't be auto-screened (for example, a sensitive or confidential search); the per-candidate toggle is for one-offs.
