Search your pool with AI (Smart search)
Last updated: June 19, 2026
Where: company → Candidates → Smart search (a Pro feature). You can also start it from the Candidates search box via Search with AI for "…".
Keyword search finds people only if you guess the exact words on their profile. Smart search works the way you actually think about candidates — describe the person you need in plain language and the Assistant translates that into structured criteria and ranks your pool against it. It's the difference between "react" matching a literal string and "a senior frontend engineer who's led a small team" finding the right people.
Running a search
On the Smart search page ("Who are you looking for?"), describe the candidate you want in plain language — "Be as descriptive as possible to find the best candidates!" The more context you give (seniority, domain, must-haves), the sharper the match. You can tick Take into account information about {your company} to factor in your company context, so results lean toward people who'd fit your team, not just the keywords.
Choose Smart search. Vouch turns your description into search criteria and finds matching candidates in your talent pool, saving it as a reusable search. Past searches appear under Recent searches — click one to reopen it.
After it runs
You can refine the criteria it generated and review the matching candidates. Treat the first run as a draft: tighten or loosen a criterion, re-run, and watch the ranking shift until it feels right.
Good to know. Smart search only looks at your own talent pool — it surfaces people you've already saved, it doesn't go find new ones on the open web. Keep adding candidates and every future search gets more to work with.
Reusable, not one-off. Because each search is saved, a recurring need ("senior backend in Oslo") becomes a search you reopen, not a query you retype. From the results you can evaluate the matches against a job or pull them into a pipeline.
